The tetraclassic packaging was launched in nineteen fifty three by the founder Ruben Rausing, who had been working on it since nineteen forty three (1943). Using a system of plastic and aluminum coated paperboard combined with an aseptic filling system, these cartons had the ability to be perfectly airtight. The companies name: TetraPak, was derived from the fact that these cartons were tetrahedral from "four" in the Greek language. In nineteen sixty three (1963) the company introduced another one called TetraBrik, a rectangular cuboid carton. Tetrawedge which was wedge shaped packaging and tetraprisma which was a round octagonal packaging along with tetrafino which was a pouch shaped packaging were other cartons that were launched.
