Adirondack vacation rental, a primer

While the area is comprised of both public and private lands, the Adirondack Forest Preserve, created by the state legislature in 1885 and located in the heart of the Park, remains forever wild. Generally speaking, though, the Adirondack area blends public and private lands, Adirondack summer cottage rentals and permanent homes, mountains and valleys. Adirondack rentals are available in any one of several regions within the Park and in all shapes and sizes, depending on your needs. Due to the popularity of the region, you should reserve your Adirondack rental several months in advance, but there are usually last minute vacancies to choose from if you make a spur of the moment decision to visit the area. There are log cabins, summer camps, chalets, bed and breakfasts and lake front cottages with lake rights available on a weekly or less than weekly basis.
